Dave-I was noticing that the Lamprey has lost most of it's ice. I need to start practicing big time. I'm sure there is some open water in a lot of places right now.

Yeah a lot of ice has disappeared lately. I've been fishing a river close by me the past couple weeks and gotten a few big rainbows that have dropped down from a lake. Problem is the river is not very wide so can't do any swinging with the two handed. Will have to check the Pemi out soon but with rain and melt I'm betting it's getting up high right now. Soon.......

Rivers out here are shedding too... giving me the itch, but problem is, no good trout water nearby. But it won't be too long now back home.

Hey Chris-In my THCI study group one of the key factors we discussed is practice with purpose. If I have an hour I write a practice plan for that hour. It might start with a warm up and then work toward issues or new things to try. I am now using a video camera for every practice.
Practice with purpose will dramatically help get you to key factors where random casting thought of on the river will not.
Have a great and safe practice. I noticed the flows are up a bit.
