Got out monday on the Salmon River in N.Y. Fairly mild day but the wind made you remember that its still winter up here in Pulaski! I was swinging this 3.5" cut-shank Egg Sucking Leech pattern. In a couple more weeks I'll be switching over to more white or white/pink Intruders as the steelhead finish their spawning activities and start dropping back down river to Lake Ontario. Brown/orange is also a good color combo for spring on the Salmon River as the fish go back on the feed and start to get their silvery color back. My only tug for the day turned out to be this 25" spawned out female caught just 200 yards above the esturary.

Glad to hear you got some reward for the cold.
Nice flies as well.

Things should heat up real soon. Can't wait to get out there.

Sure hope they don't start too soon. May have a chance to get out towards the end of April and would love to have some fish still around.
