Hello All! I only fish one river (Salmon River in New York) but I'm still trying to figue out its mysteries! This fish was taken November 20th on a 3" cut-shank and was my best of this season. 31 inches

If that photo isn't all the reason any of us need to swing on Skagit with larger style West Coast flies, I don't have a clue what it would take.
The Hardy isn't too shabby either........
I noticed on another board that one writer would need a reason to get out there, I guess they didn't see this photo.

Nice fish, congrats... FT have you been on the Salmon recently? Wondering what snow accumulation in that area is.? Thanks, FF I live right in Pulaski but my winter fishing is limited to only going out on the "nice days" ! My criteria are: air temp has to be at least 40 degrees with light winds We did have a mild weekend back in January 12 -13th when I caught 2 fish on Saturday and one on Sunday. Attached is photo of small 24" female taken on a 4" cut-shank egg sucking leech. There hasn't been a heavy amount of snowfall this winter so far. I would say there is about 18" on the ground here in town but alot more farther up in the Tug Hill.

It's very nice to see such bright fish. I'm watching the weather forecasts right now and see that we should be moderating a bit by the middle of next week. I really like the time when it is still cold at night and just warm enough to raise the water temperature a degree or two during the day.
I'm really hoping for a photo as nice as yours.
